Materials: Ceramic

One of a kind

This rare and collectible pink ceramic mug was produced by Johnson Bros, England, to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VIII in 1937. The piece features a raised white portrait medallion of the King on one side and embossed lettering reading “Coronation ER” on the reverse. Made in a beautiful soft pink glaze with white relief portrait, this mug is a charming example of British commemorative pottery. Although Edward VIII’s reign was brief, items celebrating his coronation remain historically significant and highly sought after by collectors. This mug would make a wonderful addition to any collection of royal memorabilia, 1930s ceramics, or British history collectibles. In good vintage condition with age-related wear, small glaze imperfections and tiny marks consistent with age. Please look carefully at all the photos as they are a part of the description. Measurements Approximately: 7cm diameter / 11cm with handle (W) and 8.5cm (H) All of my vintage and antique pieces show signs of age and previous use, which add to their charm and authenticity. Please expect natural patina, light surface scuff and scratch marks throughout consistent with age. I always do my best to highlight any notable details in the photos, so please check them carefully as they form part of the description. *The items may be packaged with repurposed materials.
