Characterful vintage stainless steel mortar and pestle by SUN, still with its original colourful “Export Quality – SUN Stainless Steel Guaranteed” label on the front. The small, straight-sided mortar has simple turned line decoration and a flared foot; the matching pestle has ring turning to the handle and a flat grinding end. A great little piece of vintage Indian kitchenware – perfect for grinding small amounts of spices, pepper, cardamom, etc., or simply as a decorative prop on an open kitchen shelf. • Maker: SUN (stamped to base and on paper label) • Origin: likely India, made for export • Material: stainless steel • Colour: silver-tone metal with multi-colour paper label Charming, practical little mortar and pestle that brings a touch of old-world spice-shop feel to any kitchen. In good vintage condition with honest signs of age and use. Surface scratches and small marks to the steel, light tarnish and a few tiny spots of discolouration, mainly around the base.
